Accela Certified Professional: Civic Platform System Administrator

This foundational certification program is designed to provide system administrators the knowledge and tools to successfully configure and maintain their agency Civic Platform record types and user experience.

Description

This course consists of a virtual classroom component followed by a configuration project to be completed in an assigned training environment.  Participants will learn the following:

  1. How to use both classic and new administration tools.
  2. Configuration of agency user permissions by user group.
  3. Configuration of custom fields for People and Property.
  4. Configuring new record types with a sequence/mask.
  5. Configuring the following core record type associations:
    • Intake form configuration.
    • Custom fields & lists.
    • Workflow configuration.
    • Fee schedules & fee items.
    • Status & document groups.
    • Inspection group & inspection configuration.
  6. Configuring Accela Mobile for inspections.
  7. How to optimize user experience with the following tools:
    • Console configuration.
    • Record & task filters.
    • Form designers such as:
      • Form portlet designer.
      • APO form layout editor.
      • Custom fields layout editor.
      • TSI form layout editor.
    • Expression builder.

At the conclusion of the class, participants are assigned a training environment consisting of the Civic Platform and corresponding administrator tools.  The learner will receive a design document that details project configuration specifications.  To achieve certification, each participant will need to successfully build a record type and all associated configurations in keeping with the design document within a two-week time frame and obtain a minimum 80% score.

Course Objectives

By the end of this course, participants will demonstrate that they can:

  1. Build and configure a record type in keeping with business requirements.
  2. Configure all associated record components resulting in a fully functioning record type in the Civic Platform.
  3. Manage and optimize user experience through use of administrative design tools.

Target Audience

Agency system administrators responsible for configuring and maintaining the Civic Platform.

Prerequisites

  1. Extensive knowledge of internal agency Civic Platform End-user functionality.
  2. Extensive knowledge of internal agency workflows and business processes.
